Crime drama series OFFSIDE selected for MIDPOINT TV Launch 2021

We’re happy to announce that we have been successful at applying to yet another MIDPOINT programme, this time for development of our upcoming TV series Offside, created by Juš Premrov and Nejc Pohar. Offside is a 6-part show about the dark and seedy underworld of international football, where the sport is used as spectacle to cover up a much more corrupt international arena of sports betting and match fixing. 

The series is one of the 9 projects selected for the MIDPOINT TV Launch 2021 workshop, in which the participants are tutored on how to make their series ideas into marketable projects, how to improve their scripts as well as their skills, and find out possible funding opportunities. The group of participants also includes our producer Andraž Jerič, who previously participated in MIDPOINT’s Feature Launch and Cold Open programmes.

The participating projects are divided into three groups of three, and each group’s development is overseen by both a group leader and participating development executive. Due to the current COVID situation, the first workshop (out of three in total) will take place online (May 3 -May 14, 2021), and will – hopefully – be followed by an in-person workshop in Prague during Summer, with the workshop concluding at PÖFF – Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival where projects are to be pitched as part of the Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event.
